TEAM & CAT APPLICATIONS

The mods will get back to your app as soon as they possibly can. If you have no response after a week's time, please feel free to contact them again. This also applies for responses on potential revisions. If accepted, you will receive a response and placed into the game's queue. Team placements are done on Fridays on kyriakos_ooc. You will be notified via email when your character is placed onto a team. The wait time between app approval and team placement can vary, depending on many factors! Characters are placed onto teams that would best suit them, so sometimes are held until an appropriate spot is open for them. If a specific team is requested and that team is full, the wait for a drop could be a while! If you want the mods to hold off on your placement until a certain time, or decide later to withdraw your app, please contact the mods via email. There is a three character limit for team characters. And while there is no hard rule for how many apps you can submit at once, we may hold off on approving one until you properly settle in with your first character. Third characters will require a higher amount of activity from your current characters.

ECHO APPLICATIONS

If accepted, you will receive a response with information about what to do next, and formerly announced in that Friday's announcements and placements post on kyriakos_ooc. If you want the mods to hold off on your announcement until a certain time, or decide later to withdraw your app, please contact the mods via email. There is a three character limit for Echoes, with potential for more only of you provide proof of being around and running events and games with your Echoes. And while there is no hard rule for how many apps you can submit at once, we may hold off on approving one until you properly settle in with your first Echo.

ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERS

CANON: We accept characters from all published mediums, including ones such as webcomics! However, we may open a discussion for characters who don't appear much in a series or have much in terms of canon or personality, due to the nature of Kyriakos' memory regaining structure. In the case of Echoes, Echoes cannot be canon characters. OCS: Kyriakos accepts original characters. Much like the rule about having enough canon to be appable, please make sure to be thorough when describing the character in your app! PGS: Apping a character from a previous game you played them in is acceptable. However please ensure any prior CR or character knowledge is cleared with applicable players beforehand, especially if the characters are played by different people! CANON AUS: These will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. CROSSOVERS WITH OTHER CANONS: These will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. AGE: While we accept characters of all ages, we'd like for all potential appers to keep in mind both the possibility that a child character may not have enough canon memories to play with, and due to Kyriakos' occasional dark setting, some children may not be a good fit for it in a team setting. We trust a potential apper's discretion, but depending on factors much like any character, the mods may open a discussion prior to accepting. HUMANS & NON-HUMANS: Kyriakos accepts all characters regardless of their physical appearance. However in the cases of characters who may be too big to fit in a dorm (such as a dragon) or other special cases, we may open up a dialogue to discuss options, such as scaling down a character's size or bridging contact between a potential team about adding appropriate living spaces for the character. POWERED: All characters will be on the same power level due to the memory loss mechanic. Characters can regain skills through shards, and characters that possess superpowers can regain them, though Kyriakos does have a powercap in effect and we expect this rule to be followed. Please check our powercap page for more information. DEAD CHARACTERS: We allow characters who have died in their canon, including the option for their death to be a memory regain. PERSONALITY: All personality types are welcome in Kyriakos! However, please keep in mind the team mechanics when considering a character on an extreme end of a spectrum. Be they an innocent child who will break and become unfixable due to the dark themes in the game, or an irredeemable villain who wouldn't work together with their team. Teamwork and cohesion are important parts of the game. CANONMATES: Canonmates are welcome and there is no cap for how many characters can be apped and played from a single canon, nor a rule on whether or not they need to be apped from the same point in time. While we tend to opt to place canonmates on different teams, we can and will consider requests if a player wishes to be placed on the same team as one. TEAM PLACEMENT REQUESTS

When submitting your app, you will have an option to make a team placement request. More than anything we want characters to be placed on teams they'll fit on, so if you're not familiar with the make up of each team, use this section to give the mods an explanation of what you'd like to do with your character, or what character types you're seeking out for specific development. For example: Fluffy Kindhearted Person might be looking for similar characters because they wouldn't fit well with rougher types. Alternately, Hardened Semi-Douche might also be looking for a more fluffier team because the player wants to create an arc where they end up softer than their canon counterpart. Alternately, if you have specific teams in mind from following the game, the suggested request minimum if you list specific teams is three preferred teams, although if there is a singular team you wish to be placed on and are willing to wait for if said team is full, we will honor such requests so long as the character is a fit for the team and there are no other circumstances preventing a later placement. If you have no team preferences but are looking for certain types of development, please note that and the mods will do their best to place you appropriately. Try to consider what character types would be best for your character to be around based on what your plans for your character are. Every team is different and while there some "squishier" teams and more "hardened" teams, they vary in many ways so cannot be pegged with certain defining traits alone. The mods will always consider the current make up of the team when placing a character, and will talk to potential applicants if they feel there is a need to.

HOW TO APPLY

FIRST CHARACTER 1. Check out the navigation page for the game to learn the basics. 2. Read the rules, about Kyriakos and memory loss & roles pages. 3. Check the taken characters and queue pages to make sure the character you're apping isn't taken. SECOND AND THIRD CHARACTERS Please consider your own balance and time dedication to the game and how playing two characters with double the team interaction, game playing, memory regains and write-ups will work out for you! Amnesia-based games can require a bit of attention and we have activity rules in place because we expect players to consistently keep in contact with and tag their teammates! When apping a third character, the mods will require higher activity between your current characters, at no less than 70 comments per character in the last month (based on the date of your app; meaning if you send an app in on January 19th, the 70 comments per character will need to be after December 17th). The mods may hold an app or discuss activity levels with a player if they feel your current characters haven't been played enough recently. CATS Playing a Cat will be a different experience than playing a team character, due to their roles as well as their team number. While in some games Cats play as a singular team, in many of them Cats are paired off with the other teams to help balance them out, or given different roles in a game than the teams. Cats are patroned to the Queen and as such part of their job is to uphold the rules of Kyriakos, such as stopping out-of-game disputes or fights between characters. Cats can also give out quests to the teams for smaller items in exchange for a memory shard due to their patron situation. ECHOES The NPCs of Kyriakos are known as Echoes. They run games, mini-events, posts for interactions, and they are how characters will regain their memories! While memory regaining for Echoes is not part of their main focus, it's still possible through rare events. Read up on the Echo & patron information and games & game running pages to learn more about the Echoes' place in the game, as simple Echoes can be a more laid back playing experience.
