POWERCAP

POWERCAP
The powercap for Kyriakos is simple! Rather than affecting everyone equally, it would cap everyone down to roughly the same amount—a naturally weak character may find themselves completely unaffected, while someone at absurd power levels will find most of their power gone.

The easiest way to think of it is that if you’re using an RPG 100-level system; all characters will be capped at level 30. This would make them fairly tough and give them access to some of their cooler abilities, but they will lose anything that gives them too huge advantage over other characters or the setting.

A character who would technically be considered a "level 30" compared to other extremely overpowered characters, could be considered full powered by those standards. Basically, you can show off and do cool things when the time comes! But when characters are doing things, one should never completely overshadow others. Think about a character who can literally destroy a planet; obviously they can't be at peak power, but they can probably cause some pretty impressive explosions to smaller targets once they get their skills back. Whereas a character who can cast Fire 3 at their absolute strongest can still do that without being affected by the power cap. Both characters could then cause the same amount of damage and reach an even playing field.

This powercap can be exceeded with great force of will. However, doing so runs the risk of straining your soul and shattering it once more, in effect returning your character to a fresh amnesiac who has to regain their memories again, and with no memories of their time in Kyriakos to boot.
