Question! When apping characters that have canonmates in game, does everyone need to be taken from the same point in canon? For example if there's a 10-or-so-year time skip in their canon, would we be allowed to app characters from different time periods orrrr not so much?

They do not! You can take your characters from whenever you want in canon.
